While searching for good virtual private server (VPS) deals and exploring new options, I decided to sign up with Leaseweb. Since it was a Saturday night, I anticipated that the process might not move forward until Monday, understanding that some providers operate on standard business hours — which is perfectly reasonable.
At the time, I wasn’t entirely certain what I would use the VPS for beyond hosting my own sites and a few others. Initially, my goal was simply to test its performance. Although my current VPS — a smaller instance — has been functioning well, I was interested in trying something new, so I moved forward with the registration process.
I noticed right away that Leaseweb’s signup process was different from what I had experienced with other providers. First, they verify your email address and confirm that your order has been received. Then, approximately 24 hours later, they follow up with a second email to continue the setup process.

As a customer, you would expect clear and upfront information before purchasing a virtual private server. Unfortunately, with the package shown below, there is no clear indication that it is intended for business-to-business use.

I still wonder why they wouldn’t simply provide this information upfront when you purchase the VPS, rather than making you wait 24 hours to find out via email.
In their response, they pointed out that the information is included in the terms of service. I’ll admit, like many people, I don’t usually read every detail of the terms of service. It would have been helpful if they had presented this information more clearly and prominently. To be fair, from their perspective, when a business signs up, it’s expected that either the owner or a legal representative would carefully review the terms. Even so, clearer upfront communication would make the process much easier for everyone.

I respect the process they have in place, as it shows a clear commitment to delivering quality service. If I were registering as a business, I would definitely choose to sign up with them. Unlike many other companies — where you often end up with blacklisted IP addresses — they maintain higher standards. While it’s not too difficult to clean up IP issues yourself, it’s the attention to those small details that really makes a difference.
In my last email, I clearly expressed my wish to cancel, and they handled the cancellation promptly and professionally, making the entire process smooth and hassle-free. I truly appreciate how efficiently they managed it.
